That's why I like to start a character out online and do the white world tendencies first. The game tends to start you out on the white side. After I have started the game and verify that my worlds are on the white side of neutral, I go offline to be able to get to pure white. That way I only have to do a couple things to get a world to pure white.
Other than the server having an effect for world tendencies, my understanding is that it's only what you actually do in that world (not when in another player's world) that will cause it to change. So, if you become a Blue Phantom in Stonefang to help a player defeat Flamelurker, it has no effect on your Stonefang because you entered someone else's world.
Likewise, invading someone's world and killing the host should only change your Character Tendency, not your world's tendency. Killing an invading phantom also only changes your Character Tendency even though it was done in your world.
